Green tea extract.

Green tea extract provides more effective antioxidant effect than a cup of green tea. You will have to drink three to four cups of green tea a day to get a same amount of polyphenols (antioxidants) as you would from 100 mg of green tea extract.

Green tea extract contains high level of polythenols especially EGCG that helps fight different types of cancer, lowers cholesterol levels, reduces the risk of heart disease, slows down aging processes and protects against respiratory and digestive infections. It is also a wildly used ingredient in many fat burners because it increases the metabolism without increasing the heart rate. It is especially important for obese people who have cardiovascular complications like hypertension.

One capsule of green tea extract gives you a greater antioxidant effect than a serving of broccoli, carrots, spinach or strawberries and is about 25-100 times more potent than vitamin C and E.

The healing properties of green tea can be derived from all its forms. So whether to chose a cup of green tea or a green tea extract is just a matter of your personal taste. If you like green tea so much that you drink it with every meal you really don't need to take green tea extract, but if you just drink a one cup of tea a day it may be helpful to take a capsule of green tea extract.

It is suggested to take green tea extract with your meal with a glass of water. That will ensure the better absorption and effeteness of antioxidants.
